Our History

East Central Railway Karmachari Union (ECRKU) Samastipur was established in 1974. Since then, this organisation has been at the forefront of protecting the interests of railway workers in Bihar.

Affiliated to AIRF (All India Railwaymen Federation), ECRKU today represents over 9,500 members across 17 branches & councils. Pay revision, promotions, medical facilities, pension, and workplace safety — we stand with our members on every issue.

Over decades of struggle, ECRKU has successfully won numerous demands and resolved hundreds of individual employee grievances.

ECRKU Samastipur is affiliated to All India Railwaymen Federation (AIRF) — India's largest and oldest railway workers' federation. Through this affiliation, we raise our voice for railway workers' rights at the national level, including Railway Board-level PNM meetings.
